Depressing News

Have you ever just sat down and watched the news? It can be depressing seeing all the horrible things that people are capable of doing. Stealing, killing, or hurting others in any other way is just deplorable. Sometimes you have to ask yourself, why, or how? Man's nature is to act purely for one's own self. People cannot rid themselves of the primative instinct to care for themselves before all others, even if that could mean severing the trust of another. Evidence of this is piling up more and more every day. What new lows could they come to next?

Still, a feeling of belonging, of connection is still present as well. A small glimer of hope is still attempting to shine through the darkness. Some would call it love, compassion, or the need for society. The relationships between humans can never be completely removed, though all the forces of evil may try. It is evident that it is still present because of the heroism deep in the breasts of all people. When a firefighter would jump into a burning building to save a child, or a police officer will take a bullet to protect a victim, it shows hope for humanity.

Be the kind of person that would care for another life. Put yourself aside for a week, just to see what it would be like to completely give yourself to service. In any small way, like opening the door for someone, you could make that person's day. The feeling you will get in return is priceless, and beyond anything else out there. To use the well known cliche, treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Expect nothing, give everything. Use the hero within you to make the world a brighter place to live.

My tangent is all done for today.

In debate, we chose our next topic. We will discus if zoos, or animal testing, is ethical. Please leave what you think in the comments.

Question of the Day: Can you turn orange from eating too many carrots?
Yes, you can! Only one person has died from eating too many though. Read more here.

Story of the Day: A man toured real estate properties to steal women's underwear.
This story is really bizzare. He just screams weirdo. At 58 years old, he is still living with his parents. Sketchy... He says the only reason he stole the underwear was because he missed his ex-wife. Really? There are so many easier ways to steal underwear than climbing into windows of houses. Ridiculous.

MLIA of the Day: "Today, while my friend and I were walking on camus, a man assaulted us from a balcony by throwing fistfuls of tootsie rolls at us. MLIA."
