D-Day is now officially over. For those of you haven't heard my ranting about districts for the past week, you were saved from a lot of boredom listening to my senseless babling. The people around me were alway amazing players, I had a lot of fun. Right now, I am absolutely exausted...like I could sleep for three days in a coma. Because of this, my post will be relatively short.

Question of the Day: Do bees poop in their honey?
No, surprisingly they do not. They fly outside the hive or far away from their honey to "do their business". It wouldn't matter anyway, because they have the least toxic poop of any animal out there, made out of only honey and pollen. Strange.

Story of the Day:
A Seattle court has made it okay for police to stun a pregant woman. This is absolutely deplorable. How can this be alright? Luckily, it did not harm the baby, but left permanent scars. Why did she deserve this? Well, because she did not sign a parking ticket. Her baby's LIFE could have been destroyed, because she did not sign a parking ticket. She was going 32mph in an 20mph school zone. How does that make sense?

That sleeping things sound pretty good to me right now. Goodnight......

Racist Dogs and Terrible Texting

Hello! Things have been absolutely krazy lately (And yes, I spelled crazy wrong on purpose. I'm not that bad at spelling.) The past week was March Madness at my school, and it was truly madness. Amber especially had some histerical moments, where she was flung around, attacked and hit in the head. It definately made the usually boring month of march worth going through. Here is a shocker, we the Freshman came in last, and the Seniors came in first. Something hinky is going on. I suspect that the teachers felt bad for the seniors because they didn't win homecoming, so they tweaked the results so that the order would be the way it is. Now we just have to get back into the swing of things unfortunately.

Districts (gasp!) starts Wednesday, and I really, really hope that I don't just crash and burn. I guess I'll just have to take this week as it comes.

Question of the Day: Are dogs racist?
There had been a bunch of recorded instances where dogs attacked African Americans or Asian people. Through some observations, it was concluded that dogs attack things that are unfamiliar to them. If you want to read the explanation in detail, or how they got to this conclusion, read here:
http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2928/are-some-dogs-racist

Story of the Day: DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!!!!
A sixteen year old girl from Chicago delvelped Carpol Tunnel Syndrome after she was sending over 100 text messages a day. She has lost all feeling in her hands, and needs to wear braces. She can't pick up most objects, and needs shots everyday for the pain. This is my warning to all you texters out there. Read the full story here:

MLIA of the Day: "Today, I was watching my antfarm and witnessed something special. I saw two of the ants, both carrying something, have the 'akward' moment when you run into someone, and both move the same way, etc. Good to know it doesn't just apply to us humans. MLIA".

I hate when that happens!! That seems to happen to me a lot. Hope you have a good week, and hope to talk to you soon.

Happy Birthday.

I just wanted to give a shoutout to my brothers, who just turned 12! I can't believe that they are almost teenagers. That would mean I have to face the fact that I am growing up as well, and ever wants to do that? Though I don't want to be Peter Pan, I would like to be Wendy. What I mean by that is this: I want to have a chance to just let loose, and do crazy things and have crazy adventures, but then eventually grow up and have a nice life. That seems to be what everyone wants, but hey, it sounds pretty nice to me.

Yesterday, we went to the beach. No, we did not get out of the car and go swimming (brrrr), but we did have a great, relaxing ride and a wonderful mean at the Hungry Travler (one of the best restraunts in the world). Soon, I will be going outside again, because of how warm and beautiful it is outside. It's 55* for crying out loud, practically summer weather again. The non-new englanders won't get this. It feels great to be running outside in short sleaves again.

Question of the Day: Why is the weather in the world acting so weird?
This is not an official question that I got off the internet, but one that I personally was wondering. Maybe people are actually doing something to this planet. For goodness sake, the axis had shifted!!! The amount of daylight has changed permanently. The gulf stream has shifted, and there are all these huge earthquakes. I think mother nature is trying to tell us something. What do you think?

Story of the Day: Mother nature is about to gas the planet.
AH! I told you! The gasses under the ocean are only kept there by depth and temperature. The temperature is just warm enough to release them. Scientists have no idea of the effects of this, and these problems could be huge. Read the article here:

MLIA of the Day: This stuff is everywhere today!!!
"Today, I was reading a book with a bunch of different fun facts. Apparently scientists project that by 2040 global warming will mean the end of ice cream cakes. This upsets me more than it should. MLIA".

School Teachers Rock!!

Buenos noche mis amigos! I hope I said that right... Anyway, I just spent the day with my aunt in her classroom, which was eventful. It was rewarding, but I have gather a new respect for what teachers have to go through day after day. Thank you to all of them who had to put up with us across the years! Some of the kids were really sweet though, and their stories just melt your heart. If you want to know more, talk to me about it tomorrow.

Question of the Day: Does subsonic sounds cause acute anxiety?
No, they do not. They do effect the inner ear, and may cause dizziness though. There are only a few ways that you may hear these sounds in an earthquake, or goes high speed in your car with the windows open. Don't try it!

Story of the Day: Five European countries are trying to ban the burka.
The burka is a head to toe body concealer worn by Muslim women. I think this is ridiculous, because everyone has the freedom of religion. People are being predjudiced against them, because wearing the burka would be equivilent for me wearing a crucifix. If you read the satistics in the link below, it further proves how horrilbe people are because they cannot make connections or see the bigger picture. What do you think about this?

MLIA of the Day: "Today, I started eight grade at a new school. During math I started screaming and hiding under my desk. When my teacher asked me whay I said I had arithmophobia (fear of numbers), which I don't have. She talked to teh prinicpal. When they called my mom, she just played along and said that I did have it and my case is very severe. Now if I fell scared during math I can just leave."

Wow, I wish I could do that. Talk to you soon!

Dress Up Time

Hello people of the world! Today was just an okay day, not great, but not too bad either. I'm going to UMass Lowell tonight and dressing up for promotion pictures for the UMLJWE (University of Massachusetts Lowell Jounior Wind Ensemble). Whew...that's a long name. Seeing as I hate pictures, it is not going to be all that fun.

Tomorrow, I am looking forward to helping my aunt in her classroom for my community service. It is going to be a little challenging, but worth while.

Don't you just LOVE long weekends? I do too, except for the fact that we didn't have power. I still got up at 5:00 to get ready, and upon discovering the lack of power, we went out to DD's to get some breakfast. Around 6:15, my aunt, who is also a teacher, called to tell us that school had been cancelled. Great...

Question of the Day: Is there a way to sleep less?
Yes, if you excerise and live a healthy life, you can cut it down to about 6 hours. You sleep your best the first four hours, and the rest is usually unessential dreaming. Give that a thought all you sleepy teenagers!

Story of the Day: This is so hilarious I just need to paste the entire thing in here.
"Located in Suweon, south of Seoul, the strange home towers over everything else at 4,508-sq-foot and cost him 1.6 million dollars.
Sim, who is also the former Mayor of Suweon and current member of the parliament, hoped that this home would emphasize the importance of better sanitation in all countries.
'Toliets were once regarded as stinking and dirty places. Not any more. They must be treated as teh sanctuary that protects human health,' was his take on the matter.
In fact, Sim has been so vocal on the clean toilet issus that during his term in office, folks had started calling him Mayor Toilet.
As it is, given that his mother gave birth to him in a toilet, the loo theme has been a major part of the eccentric man's life.
Where the unusual home is concerned, Sim has devised a plan where he can reel in funds for countries with backward toilets.
He encourages wealthy folks to rent out the house at an impressive rate of 50,000 dollars per day.
He assures that all profits from this rental venture will for needy countries who lack decent sanitation."

MLIA of the Day: "At my favorite coffee shop, there are two cash registers, each with their own tip jar. Today, the first tip jar said, 'Tip me or I'll kill you.' The second tip jar said, 'Tip me so I can make enough money to get the homicidal maniac over there axed by the Mob.' Guess who got their tip?"

Got to go change now, see ya!
