Today I spent looking at bride's maids' dresses. It was really fun! We found a few that would look great on all the girls, but no dresses really jumped out at us. If you know me, you know I don't like shopping, but this was actually fun. We had a couple of laughs at some of the dresses. It is amazing that people would actually wear some of the stuff that is out now a days.
Tomorrow is the Woburn Halloween Parade. Every band members worst nightmare. It is a good thing to scare people with, perfect for Halloween. The only good part is that all the money we get from it, yeah, we acutally earn money in parades, goes directly back to us. All the money goes towards the Virginia Beach trip that we are going on in April. That I am excited for.
Question of the Day: How many cows are slaughtered each year to make McDonalds hamburgers?
Based on some loose calculations (so this is probally far off from the right number) the number of cows slaughtered is about 10 million each year. Oh my. Think about that next time you order a hamburger.
Story of the Day: Half of all British people have been injured by food, on their snack breaks. 25 million people have been injured and 500 people end up in the hospital. Read the link below to find out what different types of foods cause all these injuries. All this dangerous food, for cows and humans. Strange theme.

This is a blog used to talk about Maryrose's school, friends, and life overall. Also reads stories and questions of the day! Enjoy!

Debate Club!
Calling the Court! I mean, club! Today we spent a great debate club arguing about wether school should be continued year round. Surprisingly the fors and againts tied. What are people thinking about these days? It is really fun arguing, you should try it sometime. What? You already do that? Really?
We started working on Christmas songs today in band. Isn't that scary? It isn't even Halloween yet, and I have "Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!" stuck in my head. On the plus side, I get to play a bagpipe duet with my friend Allison. (No, I do not actually play the bagpipes, which would be totally amazing, but the picalo combined with the alto saxophone, what I play, has that effect.) It is going to be awesome!
Question of the Day: Does sublimial advertising work? Well, the answer to that is no. It is everyone's worst fear though, being hypnotized into buying something. Imagine yourself watching TV, and being forced, unknowingly to do something you don't want to. A number of studies proved that it doesn't work, though many advertising companies have tried it. Evil!

Story of the Day: A mother was forced out of her shower wearing nothing but a towel when drug officers stormed...the wrong house. Imagine that happening to you!!! How bad is that?? They even burst through her door with a battering ram. Her petrified daughter was restrained when she attempted to run out of the house. Read more here.

Cutest Kids Ever. (and some earworms)
Hi, I was unable to go with my friends to the mall yesterday, :-(, but I did go and babysit my little cousins, a.k.a. the cutest kids ever. I go about an hour before they go to bed, and help put them to bed. Richy, the cutest 3 year old boy ever, tried to convince me to let him get up multiple times to check on his younger brother. (And a bathroom trip). It is fun, especially reading them stories and signing their goodnight songs. There were definately many aw... moments.
Story of the Day: Don't make this mistake on Halloween. Neighbors of a man that was shot and killed didn't report it to the police because they thought it was a Halloween decoration. Be sure to inspect the slumping bodies on the porches to make sure they are really fake, and not real dead people. Jeez people.

Question of the Day: Oh my gosh, you have to read this!!!!!!!!!! Everyone wonders why music gets stuck in their head. It is an unmistakable occurence where you end up listening to the same song a billion repay itself, when you don't even know it that well, or you hate it. Read the artile below if you want to know why (by the way, they are called earworms, creepy, I know). Finally somebody answers this question!!!

New Addition!
Hi. I don't want to talk about today. If you want to know what happened, come talk to me privately. Oh no. :-(
On the upside, I found a new website, something else to add to the blog!!!! Yeah!!!! It is a website that answer common, everday questions that everyone wants to know about. I will post the question of the day here, just like I have the story of the day. This should be interesting.
Question of the Day: Why is there stitching on the back pockets of Levi's jeans?
I'll tell you why, they originally were used to support the lining, but that stopped when it wasn't needed anymore. Eventually it became a trademark of the company, and they didn't take it off. If you want to read more, click below. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/164/why-is-there-stitching-on-the-back-pockets-of-levis-jeans
Story of the day: This story is for all you art lovers out there. A girl who was working with plaster lost nearly all of her fingers in an accident. She accidentally allowed her fingers set in the stuff, and the teacher and paramedics couldn't get it off. It took a lot of surgery, and now she only has two fingers on one hand. Be careful!!

Tuesday is the new Monday. At least this week. *Sigh*.
Just thought I would take a break from my hard work and write this. I have all this makeup work to do, because I have to be out of school for the next few days. If you want to know why, come ask me about. Just for the record though, I'm not looking forward to it at all.
I hope the endless casem of high school will get better or at least stay the same as it is now. I don't think I could handle another huge interuption in my otherwise happy life. The best we all can do is stand tall and support eachother.
Back to homework, after the story of the day, of course.
Story of the day: The stories today both have to do with children. They are both unjustices, and I don't think I know which one is worse. This baby was denied proper health care because he was too fat. It turns out that his health care company wouldn't put him on the plan he had a prexisting condition of obisity. Read more here.

Next, this man was delibertly splashing children waiting for the bus with his car. Being a student who takes the bus myself, I would be absolutely livid if this happened to me. Why would you do such a thing???? You can watch the video on youtube, but get the story here.

Ignighting the Flame
Hey y'all. That southern accent is all I had to listen to yesterday, because my group leader for the retreat I went to was from Arkansas. (I don't know why they pronouce that the way they do, Ark-an-saw, shouldn't it be Ark-an-sas? I guess that they don't want they name to be over sassy :-)). It was 6 hours long, way to long for that sort of thing to go on. It wasn't as bad as the church thingys usually are though, because the people in it at least tried to make it interesting. Besides talking about God and "Ignighting the Flame" (that is what the retreat was called), I learned a lot more about the south, because of my group leader. The NET people (National Envangalization Team) were from all different parts of the country, which was cool. They all took a year off of college to do this retreat, so they were interesting people to talk to, with all sorts of different personalities. I met a cool girl from California too. It was interesting to hear their points of view.
Yeah for a day off!! Thank you Columbus for sailing the ocean blue in 1492!!! (I hope I got that right, it would be pretty sad if I didn't.)
Story of the Day: First the Nobel Peace Prize and now action figures? The first family has now been made into action figures. How much acknoledgement do they need? I think that it was ridiculous that the President recieved the Prize because he was just in office for two weeks when he was nominated! He didn't even do anything yet! Now, the latest action figure that has come out is of Michelle, featuring her most famous feature "her bare arms". Come on. Give me a break. Read more about the figures here.

HAPPINESS
I have the most unbelibable feeling of happiness right now. I just read a wonderful post about well...me!!! You should check out this awesome blog out, you can see it in the cool people's blogs section under Allison's Assylum. Thanks for being such a great friend. Because Lizzie already did an acrostic poem with he first name, I will do it with her middle name.
K: Kracy with a K!!! 'Cause that is the awesome version of it. (And she's awesome.)
I: Interesting to talk to. We never can stop talking about the weirdest things, trust me.
M: Miracle worker. She can do things that I can never dream of doing.
B: Beautiful on the inside and out.
E: Everlasting friend. Will never walk out on you.
R: Really, really, really, really really, really, really, really good musician.
L: Loves cats. A lot. She even goes to the vet with wiskers. :-)
Y: Yellow makes her think of me, even though I don't know why.
Yeah, so that is Allison in short. Very short. 'Cause she is a lot more than that.
I have decided to stop saying the homework for real this time, because the classes are so varied.
Story of the day: It serves the people in China right. They have chosen boys over girls for centuries, for many reasons, mostly because they carry on the name and take care of the family. A study has shown that soon 30 million men will not be able to find wifes because of this astounding difference. Read this article.

Hello!! I am very happy because I get to write again! I have been very busy lately. (And secrectly, I was waiting for some of my friends to write again before I did. Instead of just one, two wrote, so yeah!! That makes me happy. Go check them out. Strangely, their last posts were about eachother.)
School is just... well...school. Nothing really excited is going on. No, wait!!! We just started learning about biochemistry in science! Alright! (Oh, and if you can't tell, that is being totally sarcastic because I hate science. But don't tell my science teacher that I said that.
We do have more members in the debate club, which I think is awesome! It is really fun for those of you who go to my school, and should totally join!! Please???? Also, I am going on some pretty cool trips this year with groups that I'm in, like Virginia Beach with the band. I'm not sure if I'll make it into the theater yet. Hopefully!!!
Story of the day: A man carries a cross from Texas to Washington (the state). WOW. Only, it had weels, so it wasn't as tedious, but still. I mean, really? If you want to see why, look here.
